October 17 @ 9:45 am - 2:00 pm
We have planned a field trip to WildPlay Element Park on Wednesday, October 17th, 2018.
On this field trip students will be exploring different ways of achieving physical health by participating in low, intermediate and high ropes obstacle courses in the forest. WildPlay is an excellent activity to help students work on personal and social leadership skills. While out on the course students can experience problem solving for themselves, practice patience with themselves and others, as well as learn to positively support and encourage each other. This trip in intended for all students to enjoy while practicing safety and fun together.
We will be travelling to our destination by school bus.
We will depart from the school on October 17th, 2018 at 9:40am and head to WildPlay Element Park located at 23485 Fern Crescent, Maple Ridge and return to Vanguard Secondary School at 2:00pm.
Please make sure your child is prepared for potential wet and cold conditions by wearing appropriate clothing for the weather. Including an extra sweater, rain jacket and appropriate shoes for hiking. Additional important items to bring; a hat (or toque), sunblock and water.
*There is also an important additional waiver form attached which is required by WildPlay. This form is necessary for your child to attend and participate on this Leadership experience, it requires both student and parent information which must be completed correctly and signed. I have highlighted the important areas which MUST to completed and initialed.
We require your permission for your child to participate in this activity. Please complete the Field Trip – Parent Permission Form (on reverse side or attached) and return it to the school by Tuesday, October 16th, 2018.
